We understand how important it is for children to have good experiences at the dentist. We can see children from as soon as they get their first tooth if they are experiencing a problem, however, most parents start bringing their kids in from between 3 and 4 years of age. This allows them to become familiar with the surroundings and the process. If they need any treatment by the time they are 5 or 6, they will have had several positive visits and can often be treated with minimal intervention and without the need for local anaesthetic.
We are very fortunate to have to skills of an Oral Health Therapist at the practice now. For more about Anna-liisa check out her bio.
It is very sad that Dental Decay is the number one reason that children get General Anaesthetics. Mostly, it is completely preventable! We will help reinforce good oral hygiene habits and a balanced diet to help keep your child smiling.

Lifestyle Treatments allow you to free yourself from a dental issue that is holding you back - whether the issue is social, emotional or comfort based. These are treatments that are not necessarily needed from a dental health or functional perspective but are more what you want. Incidentally, they can have big positive effects on your general health, nutrition and oral function. They are also lots of fun for us to do because they can have such wonderful impacts on the quality of people's lives!
People's wants vary. Examples include:
to have confidence eating without fear of a denture falling out
to smile freely in photos
to eat comfortably & to taste food fully again
for things to be healthy and vaguely human
to maintain things as they are for as long as possible with minimal investment
some don't know what they want, but know they don't want pain or problems in the future.... the list of wants and desires is endless.
We are all different. We realise that. When we sit down and have a chat about what your specific wants and issues are, we can discuss the options that fall into your budget. People are often surprised by how many options are available to them, thanks to modern techniques and advancements in dental materials.
For the most part the cost of general dental treatments are in the range of hundreds to a couple of thousand dollars, whereas more complex or lifestyle type treatments typically cost from thousands to tens of thousands of dollars.
Such treatments include
- Dental Implants - which can mean getting rid of a denture and having a fixed set of teeth again
- Ceramic Veneers or Porcelain Laminates - which can create a beautiful natural looking smile as part of a smile makeover or oral rehabilitation.
